I’ve worked in a lot of small businesses over the years in various roles at all levels and try to use all that experience to your advantage.

I ask a lot of questions, to make sure I know what you’re hoping to achieve and I’ll email you or talk with you on the phone to make sure you’re aware of my progress.

I price my work based on each project, so there’s no simple calculation or standard tariff, but my prices are competitive and my standards are high and the end result will be clean, semantic and validated code that works in a wide range of browsers.

Sales vs Service

It’s clear that in the world of web site design, as in all industries, there are good and bad companies.  I think the worst kind of company is the one that is very good at sales, but not very good at delivering.  You know the ones I mean, they promise a bigger, better website with a top ten placement in Google and you are persuaded to sign up.  What they deliver is only what is actually possible, something less than perfect and placed as high as the site’s popularity deserves, it’s not what they promised, but they’ll just find excuses, and you’ll have to go along with it.

I’m not the best salesman, I’m likely to tell you all sorts of reasons why you won’t get a top ten placement, or why you can’t afford the design work or functionality you like.  I lose a lot of sales that way.

I will, however, do my utmost to deliver the best web site you can afford, I’ll work with you to improve its placement in the search engines, I’ll help a lot, but it will be no quick fix.  You’ll have to work on your website too.

If you’re looking for a quick and easy, get rich quick web site, then I can’t deliver.  If you’re looking for a friend in the website business that will be honest about the work you need to do to get your web site working for you, then that I can do.
